TITLE: Committee Organizing Rape Education (CORE) Assistant Director

 JOB SUMMARY
The CORE Assistant Director is responsible to aid the CORE Director in recruitment of volunteers, creation of training manuals, presentation exercises and promotion for CORE. Pending the outcome of a final evaluation, the Assistant Director will move into the CORE Directorship immediately following his/her year as Assistant Director.
 JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Assist as assigned the CORE Director in day-to-day operations.
2. Assist in recruitment and training of volunteers for program development and implementation, including community outreach and advertisement.
3. Organize special events as assigned.
4. Represent CORE Director when so authorized.
5. Assist in the creation and updating of CORE brochures and sexual assault information sheets for distribution to students.
6. Assist in coordination of promotion and publicity necessary for effective programming.
7. Help run CORE volunteer training.
8. Assist in preparation of volunteer applications, training manuals, and other administrative tasks.
9. Must complete CORE training during winter quarter if it has not already been completed.
10. Maintain a good working relationship with the ASUW, its commissions, programs, and other agencies.
11. Meet with the Student Activities Office Advisor and CORE director on a weekly basis and 1/3 of office hours must coincide with the director’s.
12. Maintain and inform the CORE Director, the ASUW Personnel Director and SAO of office hours.
13. Review and adhere to conditions of employment as stated in the Student Employment Handbook, ASUW Personnel Policy, and signed ASUW Memorandum of Understanding.
14. Ensure completion and quality of work done; ensure that all phone calls, requests, and questions are addressed properly and in a timely manner.
15. Attend ASUW mandatory training sessions, including but not limited to the ASUW Fall Orientation.
16. Inform ASUW Personnel Director and SAO Adviser of missed office hours.
17. Complete quarterly goals and evaluations as arranged by the ASUW Personnel Director.
18. Serve as a member of the ASUW Personnel Hiring Committee in the Spring to hire the new CORE Assistant Director (if not applying for that position), to ensure continuity.

3. Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
4. Knowledge of ASUW is preferred.

9. Ability to function in a professional and polite manner in dealing with ASUW clientele, the Board of Directors, UW Departments, administrators, and the general public.
10. Must be an UW student enrolled in at least 6 credits for undergraduates, 4 for graduates, or on leave as defined by Executive Order 50.
