Webmaster Job Description
TITLE: ASUW Webmaster
CATEGORY: Main Office
TERM: 34 Weeks
HOURS: 18 Hours/Week
The ASUW Webmaster is responsible for the design, redesign, and upkeep of web pages for entities across the Association.
1. Maintain the ASUW website by updating the information contained within it.
2. Develop and maintain websites for other entities within the ASUW.
3. Add creative and innovative components to ASUW websites, including CSS. Ensure backwards compatibility on websites.
4. Design and develop easy-to-use interfaces for ASUW websites.
5. Work with the Board of Directors and other entities to create graphics as needed, both for print and web formats.
6. Work with the ASUW Public Relations Coordinator to update the online calendar and event information.
7. Work with ASUW Computer Technician as necessary.
8. Carry out tasks assigned by the Board of Directors.
9. Complete small projects as assigned.
10. Maintain and inform the ASUW of office hours.
11. Meet with Student Activities Office advisor upon request.
12. Follow ASUW, SAO, and State of Washington procedures and policies.
13. Review and adhere to conditions as stated in the Student Employment Handbooks, ASUW Personnel Policy, and signed ASUW Memorandum of Understanding.
14. Attend ASUW mandatory training session, including but not limited to the ASUW Fall Orientation.
15. Maintain and inform ASUW Personnel Director and SAO of office hours.
16. Inform ASUW Personnel Director and SAO Adviser of missed office hours.
17. Complete quarterly goals and evaluations as arranged by the ASUW Personnel Director.
18. Serve as a member of the ASUW Personnel Hiring Committee in the Spring to hire the new Webmaster (if not applying for that position), to ensure continuity.
1. Extensive experience with PC and Macintosh computers.
2. Strong HTML programming skills.
3. Strong trustworthiness and ability to properly handle confidential information.
4. Strong visual design skills.
5. Experience with developing and maintaining websites.
6. Strong organizational skills.
7. Creativity and ideas.
8. Ability to communicate effectively.
9. Ability to develop and adhere to deadlines.
10. Ability to function in a professional and polite manner in dealing with ASUW clientele, BOD members, UW departments, administrators, and the general public.
11. Must be a UW students enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate credits, 4 graduate credits, or as defined by Executive Order 50.
